What are your rates?

$40 per hour at my location or $50 per hour at yours, provided you live within 8 miles of Clay, Alabama. Arrange private lessons in the comfort of your own home at a time that works best for you.

Do I need an instrument?

For Piano - you do need something to practice on - even if it's only a keyboard. Come and see me to talk about what would be suitable - you'll need at least full-sized keys and touch sensitivity. A digital or acoustic piano would be ideal but a small keyboard can do for the first year or so.

For Guitar - and electric or acoustic will be fine.

I don't know anything about music - is that a problem?

Absolutely not! Beginners are very welcome. I assume no musical knowledge at all.

What music books will I need to purchase?

None. All the music charts you will need will be provided by me based on your musical skill and taste.

I can't decide on which course to take.

Many of my student are interested in piano and guitar or keyboard and computer recording. You can combine courses and learn more than one at a time!

Why only adult students?

Though I am experienced in both music courses for both adult and children I simply find people over 18 more enjoyable to teach! They want to learn and are enthusiastic, dedicated and conscientious about practicing. I also feel there is also a need for dedicated adult music courses. I use my own course specially created for adult learners and designed to make play your instrument fun right from the beginning.
